Frederick S. Dyment

March 10, 1924 — December 28, 2011

Frederick S. "Bud" Dyment of Reading passed away on December 28, 2011 at Winchester Nursing Center. He was 87 years of age.



Born in Malden, Bud was the loving son of the late Frederick and Bessie (MacLeod) Dyment. Bud a warm and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.



Bud graduated from Melrose High School Class of 1942. During WWII, while stationed in the Pacific Ocean Bud proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Navy.



He worked for American Airlines for 36e years as a Crew Chief. After retirement he worked at Dragon Corner Store for many years and then as a Crossing Guard for the Town of Reading.



Bud was a member of Reading VFW and the American Legion. He was an avid sports fan and was passionate about hockey, football and baseball. He especially enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play hockey at Reading High School. He was very proud of "all" of his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping at Terrace Pines.



Bud was the beloved husband for 64 years of Grace (Hickey) Dyment. He was the devoted father of Bill Dyment of NH, Richard Dyment and his wife Jean, Linda "Lou" Jordan and her husband David all of Reading and Kathy Valliere and her husband Ken of Amesbury. Cherished grandfather of Suzanne Davis and her husband Tim of Nantucket, Michael Dyment and his wife Michele of Maryland, Brian Jordan, Patrick Jordan, Ryan Dyment and his wife Lindsay all of Reading, Chris Dyment and his wife Erica of Stoneham, Paul and Stephen Valliere both of Amesbury. Loving great grandfather of 8. Dear brother of Ilene Crotty and her husband Tom of Halifax, MA and Eleanor Dean and her husband Ralph of Woburn. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.



A Funeral Service celebrating Bud's Life will be held on Wednesday at 12 pm in the Chapel of the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors at Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
