GABRIEL GOVATOS
Gabriel Govatos of Stoneham passed away on Wednesday August 28, 2002. He was 89 years of age.
Born and raised in Stoneham, Mr. Govatos was a life long resident.
Gabriel had many hobbies he enjoyed. He was an avid golfer and played in many golf tournaments. He was a member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association and belonged to Zorbas Chapter 176 of Woburn. He loved being with people and his warm, friendly smile reflected the wonderful friendships he made over the years. He was a loving son, husband, father and friend. He will be missed by all.
Gabriel was the beloved husband of Rita (Michopoulos) Govatos. He was the devoted father of Charles G. Govatos of Stoneham. Mr. Govatos was the dear brother of James Govatsos of Stoneham.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours at the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (Rt. 28) STONEHAM on Friday 4-6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Annuciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Avenue Woburn on Saturday at 10am.
