Gaetano Ruisi of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville passed away on Saturday, May 28,
2022. He is 84 years of age.
Born on Sunday, May 15, 1938 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, Gaetano is the loving son of the
late Lorenzo Ruisi and Giuseppa (Caminita) Ruisi. Gaetano is a kind, gentle and warm son,
brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend who will be deeply
missed.
Gaetano came over from Sicily in 1958. He met his dear wife who he has been married to
for 63 years. He was responsible for bringing his mother, father, and siblings over from Sicily to
start a better life in America.
Gaetano was a master mason and participated in building many landmark buildings
throughout Boston. He was a jack of all trades who was always available to help family members
on home projects as well as being hands on in building his own home in Stoneham.
Gaetano loved spending time with his large family, gardening, playing cards, and visiting
casinos. He loved everyone and everyone loved him.
Gaetano is the beloved husband of Anna (D’Amico) Ruisi. He is the devoted father of
Josephine Piro and her husband Steven, Mariann Ruisi and Lorenzo Ruisi and his girlfriend
Danielle Pondelli. The cherished grandfather of Steven Piro, Alex Piro and Kenny Piro, Gaetano
is the doting great grandfather of Sophia Piro. He is the dear brother of Salvatore Ruisi and his
wife Franca, Vittorio Ruisi and his late wife Christina, Mariarosa Puccio and her late husband
Giovanni, Francesco Ruisi and his wife Arlene, Eleanora Schena and her husband Geraldo, the
late Fortunata Puccio and her late husband Gaspare, the late Domenica Dealton and her late
husband Basilio. Gaetano is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM,
Friday, June 3 rd at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Gaetano’s Eternal Life in Saint
Patrick Church, 71 Central Street Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to
gather and share memories with Gaetano’s Family on Thursday, June 2 nd from 4-8pm in the
Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery,
Everett.
