After retiring, George spent his time with his beloved wife Geraldine (Jerri) or as he affectionally called her, "Jeh", traveling around New England exploring and adventuring, discovering new things and places. He spent many years teaching his children and grandchildren invaluable skills and life lessons. Whether it was teaching his grandchildren about sports or how to look at things a certain way and think positively, he was always available to guide and teach whomever was willing to learn. George loved any get together with great music and conversations and his greatest joy was in being with his family and laughing and always showing them how much they were loved.
