George A. Harlow of North Reading, formerly of Reading passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his home. He was 98 years of age.
Born on May 6, 1916 in Boston, George was the loving son of the late Albert Harlow and Louise (MacDonald) Harlow. George was a warm and caring son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
George was a dedicated head mechanic for Stop and Shop for many years. He was loved by everyone in his neighborhood. During World War II, George proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Seabee in the United States Navy.
George was the beloved husband of the late Virginia M. (Sullivan) Harlow. He was the devoted father of Roger Harlow, Marsha Booth and her husband David and the late Alan Harlow. The cherished grandfather of Ian and Lindsey Booth, George was the dear brother of the late Arthur Harlow and Jean Judy.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 10am at Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 6-8pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available.
