George H. "Sonny" O'Brien

George H. "Sonny" O'Brien, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Friday May 11, 2018 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House. He was 85 years of age.

Born in Winchester, Sonny was the loving son of the late Harold W. O'Brien and Katherine (Kilcoyne) O'Brien. A resident of Reading for many years, Sonny graduated from Reading High Class of 1952. Sonny worked at General Tire/Burlington Industries for many years. He then worked for the Reading School Department as a Janitor. He was a proud member of the Reading Knights of Columbus Council 1031.

Sonny was the loving brother of Robert O'Brien and his wife Tricia. Cherished uncle of Amy O'Brien and Colleen O'Brien.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Sonny's Eternal Life will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2018 in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St Reading at 11 am. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories with the family prior to the Mass from 9:30am to 10:30am in the Parish Activity Center at St .Athanasius Church. Burial will be private.
