Gerald Gerry Dambrosio

January 4, 1936 — November 14, 2006

Gerald J. "Gerry" D'Ambrosio, of Stoneham formerly of Everett and East Boston, passed away November 14, 2006. He was 70 years of age.





Gerry was born in Boston to the late Jennie (Giannelli) and Antonio D'Ambrosio. He grew up in East Boston and graduated East Boston High School in 1953, being elected Class President. After his family moved to Everett, he served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He was later employed in the brokerage business serving as President of the Boston Securties Traders Assoc. and on the NASD Business Conduct Committee.





He was an avid golfer and a member of Bear Hill Golf Club where he was very active, serving on many various committees as well as Past President of the Bear Hill Golf Club and Past President of Bear Hill Associates.





He was the beloved husband for 45 years of Madeline "Madge" (Amato) D'Ambrosio and loving father of Linda Anthony and her husband Glenn of Reading, Elaine Akerberg and her finace Brian Girouard of Stoneham and Christopher D'Ambrosio and his wife Susan of Reading. He was the proud and devoted Papa to Joshua, Matthew and Amanda Anthony, Nicholas and Gianna Akerberg and Thomas and Tyler D'Ambrosio. He is also survived by brother Robert and his wife Maryann of Winthrop, sister Marie Scheet and husband Albert of San Diego and sister Jeanne Julian of Tewksbury as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Gerrys' life in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Friday 4-7pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield, MA.





In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
