Gerald "Jerry" E. McGonagle

Gerald "Jerry" E. McGonagle of Reading, formerly of Medford, passed away on March 16th, 2016 at 82 years of age. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is a huge sports fan who loves his Boston teams. He is a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, class of 1951 and class of 1955 at Merrimack College. Jerry enjoyed his family and his grandchildren and especially cherished spending the Holidays with his loved ones in Vermont.

Jerry is the beloved husband of sixty years of Mary (Cavanaugh) McGonagle. He is the devoted father of Deborah Donnelly and her husband Michael, Michael McGonagle and his wife Jeanne, Sharon Ricci and her husband Raymond and Tricia Relihan and her husband Scott. Jerry is the cherished grandfather of Darcy, Declan, Kyle, Quinn, Emma, Aidan, Caleb and Adelaide. He is the loving son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ryan) McGonagle.

Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Tuesday, March 22nd at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Jerry's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn Street, Reading at 10:30am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Sunday, March 20th from 1-4pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available.
