Giulio Tortora of Stoneham, passed away on Thursday June 20, 2013. He was 76 years of age.
Born in Bisceglie, Italy, Giulio was the loving son of the late Francesco and Isabella (Pedone) Tortora. Giulio was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Giulio was the beloved husband of Elisa (Masciave) Tortora. He was the devoted father of Frank Tortora and his wife Coleen of Malden, Nunzio Tortora of Medford, Elizabeth Tortora of Malden and Dora Seaver and her husband Daniel of Stoneham. Giulio was the cherished grandfather of Ashley Tortora and Rachel Tortora both of Malden, Nicolas Tortora of Medford, Gianna Seaver and Daniel Seaver both of Stoneham. He was the dear brother of Sergio Tortora and his wife Cornelia of Wareham, Mauro Tortora and his wife Lucrezia of Italy, Maria Pellegrini and her husband Giulio of Lynnfield, Josephine Frisiello and her husband Tom of Newton and John Tortora and his wife Donna of Saugus. Giulio is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday, June 24, 2013 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Giulio's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 3-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
Giulio emigrated from Italy in 1956. He was employed by Farmland in Wakefield for over 25 years and was also an owner of several small businesses in the early 1980's.
