Gladys A. (Meuse) Brown of Reading passed away on Monday, May 12, 2008 at Winchester Hospital. She was 80 years of age.





Born in Reading, Gladys was the loving daughter of the late Leslie and Margaret Meuse. Gladys was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be sadly missed.





Gladys was a dedicated employee for the Reading School Department for over 25 years at Coolidge Middle School. She loved bingo and her grandchildren.





Gladys was the beloved wife of the late Richard D. Brown. She was the devoted mother of Allen Brown and his wife Deborah of Reading, Deborah Handrahan of Weymouth, Gail McHugh and her husband Michael of Sierra Madre, California. Gladys was the cherished grandmother of Kristy, Jason, Krystal, Kevin, Lindsey, Caitlyn, Kelly and the late Michael. She was the loving great grandmother of Jessica, Travis, John, Courtney and Thomas. Gladys was the dear sister of Carol Melanson and her husband William of New Hampshire, Shirley Muise and her late husband John of Malden. She was also predeceased by 5 siblings. Gladys was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Gladys' life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Thursday 6-8pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery, Reading.
