Grace Lillian Blomerth
April 18, 1922 — October 28, 2006
Grace Lillian Blomerth of Reading passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Wilmington. She was 84 years of age.
Born in Malden on April 18, 1922, the daughter of the late Carleton B. and Gretchen L. (Gates) Hill, she spent her early childhood in Reading before moving to Malden where she had resided prior to returning to Reading 6 years ago.
A graduate of Malden High School with the class of 1940 she had been a member of the rifle team.
Mrs. Blomerth assisted her late husband in the operation of his business, the C.R. Blomerth Company in Malden. Both she and her late husband were members of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Malden where they both served as Readers and were also members of the Mother Church of Christ Scientist in Boston.
She was a member of the Victorian Society in Malden and had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother in Malden. She traveled overland with her late husband and friends throughout North America.
Mrs. Blomerth was the wife of the late Clarence Russell Blomerth.
She is survived by her sons, Geoffrey R. Blomerth of Reading and Alan G. and his wife, Linda (Mason) Blomerth of Reading and her grandchildren, Brian Alan, Michael Geoffrey, Paul Mason, Erik Joseph and Daniel James Blomerth.
A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held at the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. Reading Wednesday at 4pm. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St.
Donations in memory of Grace may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.
