Gregory P. Spurr, of North Reading, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 19, 2026. He was 85 years old.
Gregory grew up in Reading Ma. and attended high school at Governors Academy. He spent his summers as a youth at the Spurr family seasonal home on Gooserocks Beach, Maine. Gregory was a Tool and Die Maker by trade working at the family business in Reading MA. manufacturing Ace Art corners and similar products. Greg held different Tool and Die jobs across Massachusetts throughout his life time but his real passion was to build/modify and race flat head dragsters. He received many trophy's throughout his racing career and was awarded Top Competitor from New England Dragway in 1979 and inducted into the Orientals Hot Rod Club Hall of Fame in 2022. Gregory loved spending time with his family boating, water skiing and recreating at his seasonal lake house in New Hampshire. Gregory had a real love for life and it showed in his great sense of humor and kindness towards others.
Gregory is the beloved husband of the late Judith A. (Schena) Spurr. He is the devoted father of Julie Spurr Knight and her husband Ronald Knight III and Debbie Fuller. The cherished grandfather of Nicole Fuller, Shannon Fuller, Corrin Knight and Jackie Knight and loving great grandfather of Emmalin, Amelia and Natalie. Gregory was pre deceased by his brother's Sherman and Kenneth and leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
