It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Helen Harrington Dolan, formerly of Winchester and Stoneham MA on July 16, 2025 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Bernard (“Bernie”) J. Dolan and mother to the late Paula J. Dolan. Devoted mother to Judith E. Dolan (John Green) of Mountain Brook, AL and Kevin N. Dolan (Maria) of Stoneham. Loving daughter of the late Cornelius J. Harrington and Julia C. Harrington. Cherished grandmother to Connor, Juliana and Christina Dolan and Katie Dixon. Dear sister to the late Cornelia Braese and the late Sheila Flanagan. Also survived by her dear brother-in-law, Russell Braese, dear sister-in-law Jean Dolan and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The daughter of Irish immigrants, Helen graduated from Malden Catholic Girls High School and Boston University. Upon graduating from BU, she worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Shortly thereafter, Helen was set up on a blind date with a young man from Arlington named Bernie Dolan, who would become the love of her life and her husband for nearly fifty five years until his death in 2010. While raising her children, she joined Bernie at Dolan-Jenner Industries, Inc., heading up the human resources department.
Helen lived a full life; she traveled the world, enjoyed playing golf and visiting with family and friends. She loved spending winters in Naples, FL and summers in Brewster, Cape Cod. Helen was smart, witty, and generous. She embraced life with open arms. Her faith and her family were the focus of her life. She will be deeply missed, remembered always and loved forever.
The family is grateful to Helen’s devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who frequently visited her at Artis Senior Living in Reading, MA. You brought joy into her life. We are also very appreciative of the Artis staff who provided Helen with excellent care.
“So now is your time of grief, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” ( John 16:22).
