Helen E. Franklin

October 18, 1915 — February 6, 2006

Helen E. (Ross) Franklin of Rockport, formerly of Reading and Carver, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2006 at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester. She was 90 years of age.





Born in Boston, Helen was the beloved daughter of the late Walter J. Ross and Mary Ellen (McCarthy) Ross. Helen was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.





Helen was a dedicated clerk for the Town of Reading Cemetery Department. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Agnes Church in Reading. Helen was also employed for the Town of Reading School Department in the Cafeterias.





Helen had many hobbies. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, knitting, sewing, embroidering and oil painting. Many of her paintings and sticheries hang on the walls of her home. Helen was also an avid reader.





Helen was the beloved wife of 64 years to Paul A. Franklin. She was the devoted mother of Barbara A. Stanganelli and her husband Joseph of West Peabody, Paul A. Franklin Jr. and his wife Rita of Clear Lake Shores, Texas, Walter R. Franklin Sr. and his wife Claire of Rockport. Helen was the cherished grandmother of 12 and the great grandmother of 20. She was the dear sister of Dorothy Iacopucci of Maine and the late William and Wallace Ross. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Helen's life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
