Helen A. (Novak) Lee of Reading passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. She was 93 years of age.
Born on January 18, 1928 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Helen is the loving daughter of the late John Novak and Dorothea (Sihler) Novak. Helen is a warm, kind and caring sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed.
Helen was a graduate of Saint Michaels High School in Jersey City. Following that she worked in New York City at AT&T as well as City Service Oil Company. While commuting to and from NYC Helen would run into Bob Lee-whose family she was acquainted with. The rest was history as they started dating and married in 1954 at All Saints Church in Jersey City. It was a beautiful marriage of true love and commitment.
In 1960 Helen and Bob moved to Massachusetts, eventually settling in Reading where they raised their family.
Helen loved nature, dancing, and needlework. She was a great seamstress and cook…making everything from scratch. She enjoyed all types of music-big bands to rock & roll. An avid Red Sox fan, Helen loved watching games with Bob and cheering them on. The greatest joy in her life however was spending time with her cherished family-especially during big holiday gatherings.
Over the years, Helen did volunteer work for Saint Athanasius Church, Austin Prep and Winchester Hospital.
Helen is the beloved wife of Robert E. Lee. She is the devoted mother of Robert J. Lee and his wife Ana Lilia, Brian Lee and his wife Anne and Nancy (Lee) Beaulieu and her husband Steven. The cherished grandmother of Brett Beaulieu and his fiancé Colleen Yazgi, Ryan Beaulieu, Amanda Lee, Shannon Lee and Sophia Lee, Helen is the dear sister of the late Grace Novak and the late Sr. Robert Francis "Dee" Novak, S.C.
