Helen R. Philbin

Helen R. (Gillis) Philbin of Reading passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at The Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. She was 89 years of age.
Born in Boston, Helen was the loving daughter of the late James W. Gillis and Helen R. (Hogg) Gillis. Helen was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be sadly missed.
Helen was a dedicated homemaker for many years. She was a member of St. Agnes Parish for 75 years. Helen was a graduate of Reading High School where she was a devoted volunteer. She worked as a telephone operator in Reading for many years. Helen enjoyed drawing, painting, knitting and scrabble. Helen especially loved her family and being a mother.
Helen was the beloved wife for 52 years of the late Thomas F. Philbin. She was the devoted mother of John Philbin of Chicago, Trish Seibert and her husband Michael of Denver, Kate Philbin and her husband Derek Campbell of Buffalo and Susan Lidoski and her husband Joe of North Reading. Helen was the cherished grandmother of Nora Seibert-Dispense and her husband Marc of Denver, Jillian and Lauren Seibert, both of Boston and Abby and Ben Lidoski both of North Reading.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Thursday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Helen's life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Wednesday 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
