Helen D. (Ducey) Reilly of Stoneham passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.  She is 98 years of age.

Born on Sunday, June 8, 1924 in Boston, Helen is the loving daughter of the late Leo Ducey and Mary (Hickey) Ducey.  Helen is a warm, gentle & kind daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be truly missed.

Helen graduated from Boston Girls High School and was married at St. Francis de Sales Church in Charlestown to the love of her life, her late husband Charlie who she never stopped loving.  She belonged to the Charlestown Historic Society and the Charlestown School Girls Society.  In 1986, Helen and her family moved to Stoneham where she was a member of the choir and mother’s group at St. Patrick Church.  Helen was a former guild member of the Stoneham Theatre and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center participating in their barn sale and movie and pizza events.

Helen is the devoted mother of Tricia Flynn and her husband John, Kathleen Day and her husband Steven, Chuck Reilly, Nancy Dunham, Lynn Jackson, Bill Reilly and his wife Renae, Rob Reilly and his wife Liz Higgins and the late Marie Baker and her late husband Bill.  The cherished grandmother of Shaun Flynn and his wife Alicia, Errol Flynn and his wife Jen, Ryan Flynn and his wife Jennifer, Caryn Hansford and her husband Jared, Brenda Costa and her husband Matt, Kelly Baker, Stephanie Day, Nicholas Day, Kevin Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Alex Jackson, Russell Jackson, Michelle Mady and her husband Aree, Catherine Meilus and her husband Antanas, Patrick Dunham, Michael Reilly, Jack Reilly, Lauren Reilly & Lilly Reilly, Helen is the doting great grandmother of Darius, Aeden, Kaelen, Aiyana & Adria Mady, William, Grace & Caroline Flynn, Phaedra, Eva & Liam Flynn, Reilly & Toby Melius, Nora Hansford & Emma Costa.  She is the dear sister of Imelda “Mel” Applegate Fitzgerald and the late Leo “Buddy” Ducey, Father Bill Ducey, Mary “May” Sullivan, Katherine “Kay” Lynch, Margaret “Gargie” Canney and Dorothy “Dottie” Monaco.  Helen is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM, Monday, April 24th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Helen’s Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am.  Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Helen’s Family on Sunday, April 23rd from 2-6pm in the Funeral Home.  Parking attendants and elevator are available.  Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
