Helen D. Rickley

November 22, 1922 — May 18, 2013

Helen D. (DeFusco) Rickley of Reading, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Pasqualina (Miele) and Alexander, and her sister Evelyn. Helen had a beauty of character and personality that was noticed by everyone she met. She devoted her life to raising and loving her family. She also devoted a good part of her life to her parish church and the elementary school children of Reading, (Pearl Street and Killam Schools). She served as a volunteer teacher's aid at the two schools for almost 30 years. She served at St. Athanasius in the old Arts and Crafts group and sang in the church choir for almost 35 years.



Helen will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 67 years, Anthony (Tony, Rick) Rickley; her daughter Patricia Quade and her husband Richard; her daughter Nancy Taylor and her husband James; her daughter Martha Polley and her husband James; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister and brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and all those who were touched by her generosity and kindness.



A Funeral Mass celebrating Helen's Eternal Life will be held in St. Athansius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading on Saturday, May 25th at 10:30 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday, May 24th from 4-8pm in St. Athanasius Church. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Helen's memory to St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St, Reading MA.
