Herbert J. Dunn of Stoneham, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. He was 84 years of age.
Born in Fall River, Herbert was the loving son of the late Herbert J. Dunn and Maryellen (DuPont) Dunn. Herbert was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sorely missed.
Herbert was the Past Exalted Ruler of The Woburn Lodge of Elks # 908. He was also the Past District Deputy of The Lodge of Elks. As a proud World War II Army Veteran, Herbert served our country as a Corporal in the United States Army Air Corps. Herbert was a dedicated member of the Stoneham American Legion and Stoneham VFW.
Herbert was a devoted foreman at General Electric in Lynn for many years. A graduate of Everett High School, Herbert was an avid sports fan. He especially loved the Boston Red Sox.
Herbert was the beloved husband of Margot (Yaenisch) Dunn of Stoneham and the late Rita (Gallagher) Dunn. He was the devoted father of Kathy Chaplain and her husband John, William "Bill" Dunn and his wife Denise, all of Stoneham and the late Kevin Dunn. Herbert was the cherished grandfather of Jen, Jack, Kelsey-Jean and Holly-Rose and the loving great grandfather of 2. He was the dear brother of John Dunn of Chelsea, Francis Dunn and his wife Barbara of Everett and the late Mary Burke and Edward Dunn.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Herbert's life in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Monday 3-7pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
