Herman Vincent LaMark
Herman Vincent LaMark passed away on Wednesday August 28, 2002 at the Sunbridge Nursing Center in Wilmington. He was 92 years of age.
Born in Coraopolis Pennsylvania, Mr. LaMark was a resident of Stoneham for 45 years. He was an alumni of N.Y.U. class of 1932 where he was a star football player. He coached football at LaSalle Military Academy in Oakdale Long Island New York and played for the New York Giants. Mr. LaMark served our country proudly in World War II as a Lieutenant Commander in the Armed Guard Navy.
Herman was a Personnel Director for Swank, Inc. in Attleboro Massachusetts and a Director of Supervisory Training at Northeastern University, training companies in New England. He was the first Deputy Commander of Administration and Finance and the Director of Employment Security for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He was also the Director of Career Counseling and Placement for the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Mr. LaMark belonged to many clubs and organizations. He was a member on the Board of Don Orien Home and a member of the Board of Stoneham Cooperative Bank. He also was a member of the Civic Advisory Board for the Boston Regional Medical Center. He was a speaker at various Rotary, Lions and other service organizations throughout the state.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Stoneham and was the first Eucharistic Minister of St. Joseph Church in Ossippee New Hampshire. He also maintained his second home in Ossippee for over 50 years.
Mr. LaMark was the beloved husband of 61 years to Marion Evelyn (Lund) LaMark. He was the devoted father of Robert LaMark and his wife Diane of Nashua N.H. and Thomas Lamark and his wife Dorothy of Andover. Herman was the loving grandfather of Danielle, Marion, and Katherine. He was the dear brother of Mary Ellis of Ohio and the late Albert, Victor, Charles, Joseph, Louis, and Rose Kozak.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours at the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. STONEHAM on Friday 7:30-10pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham on Saturday at 12pm
