Iolanda Virginia (Minghella) Wagner

Iolanda V. (Minghella) Wagner of Stoneham passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 13, 2020. She was 92 years of age.

Born on July 20, 1928 in Stoneham, Iolanda is the loving daughter of the late Vincenzo Minghella and Andrina (Molinari) Minghella. Iolanda is a kind, caring and warm daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

As a Stoneham Traffic Director for 25 years, Iolanda worked well into her eighties, crossing the children of Stoneham at various locations, while building lifelong relationships. There were always plenty of hugs to go around. She loved decorating and fashion. She enjoyed arts and crafts and watching the food channel. A frequent visitor of the Stoneham Senior Center Barn; shopping was her passion. She loved the holidays and spending time with family. She was the epitome of a grandmother, loving, caring and giving. Being a grandmother and spending time attending all their activities was her greatest enjoyment.

Iolanda is the beloved wife of the late Frederick A. Wagner. She is the devoted mother of William J. Surette and his wife Rita, Kathleen M. Conary and her husband Kevin Cantwell and Edwin Peek and his wife Sheila. The cherished grandmother of W.J.Surette and his wife Sandra, Aimee M. Mattingly and her husband David, Thomas J. Conary, Joseph W. Conary and his wife Alycia, Kristina K. Conary and her significant other Paul O'Meara and Sarah T. Cantwell, Iolanda is the doting great grandmother of Madisyn P. Conary and Bodhi E. Mattingly. She is the dear sister of Madeline Lupo and her late husband Joseph, Frank Minghella, the late Alfonso Minghella and his late wife Priscilla, the late Pasquale Minghella and his surviving wife Virginia and the late Alfred Minghella and his surviving wife Suzanne.

A Funeral Service Celebrating Iolanda's Eternal Life will be held on Saturday, December 19th at 11am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Iolanda's Family on Friday, December 18th from 4-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Per MA regulations, face coverings must be worn while at the Funeral Home and not more than 40% capacity will be allowed in the Funeral Home at one time. Interment Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.

The family asks for memorial contributions be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield. Donations can be made at BGCStoneham.org or mailed to 15 Dale Court Stoneham, MA 02180. Please make checks out to "BGCSW."
