Jaime G. Serrao

Jaime G. Serrao of Somerville passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 in Wilmington. He was 82 years of age.

Born in Portugal, Jaime was the loving son of the late Joao and Isabel Serrao. He immigrated to the United States in 1970 to offer his family a better life. Jaime was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially on their yearly Fall foliage trip. Jaime was an avid gardener and handyman. He was a founding member of the Madeira Club of Cambridge. He was also the Past President of the Portuguese American Recreation Club of Woburn and Past Property Manager of Winter Hill Apartments.

Jaime was the beloved husband of Rosa (Rodrigues) Serrao. He was the devoted father of Nixon Serrao, Argenis Serrao and his wife Maria, Nelson Serrao and his wife Lillian, Marisol Serrao and Anita Demetri and her husband Scott. Jaime was the cherished grandfather of Jonathan Serrao, Briana Serrao, Kellie Serrao, Alexander Serrao, Alyssa Demetri, Nikolas Serrao, Zachary Demetri, Ariana Demetri and the late Kristiana Serrao. He was the dear brother of Aida Moura, Martinao Serrao, Nicolau Serrao, Adelino Serrao, Aires Serrao and the late Joao Serrao, Leonel Serrao and Prefiro Serrao.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Jaime's Eternal Life in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St. Somerville at 11am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
