James A. Gregory III of Lynn, formerly of Stoneham, passed away on Thursday October 29, 2026. He was 64 years of age.
James (Jim) was the beloved husband of April (Scamp) Gregory. He was the cherished father of Julianne Gregory and Taylor Rothbauer, and the loving grandfather of Jack, Fiona, Jameson and Liam Johnson and Audrey George. He was the dear brother of Therese Good (Gregory) and Michael Good, and uncle of Gregory, Brian and Colleen Good.
Born on March 2, 1962, Jim was the son of the late Therese (Gillis) Gregory and James Gregory.
Everyone who knew Jim, knew him for his sarcastic sense of humor and perfectly timed remarks, always finding a way to poke fun at those around him to get a laugh or lighten the mood. He will forever be remembered by his quick wit, familiar jokes, and unmistakable personality.
He loved baseball, both playing the game and watching it on TV long after his playing days were over. He enjoyed taking his family on road trips to amusement parks and concerts, especially Phish festivals. His love for live music, adventure, and making memories was a big part of who he was.
But perhaps the most special side of Jim came out around his five grandchildren. No matter his mood, being around them brought out the very best in him. He would meet them at their level and became a part of each of their little worlds. Whether he was entertaining them, making them laugh, keeping them safe, or simply enjoying their company, he was happiest being right there with them. His grandchildren brought out a softer, playful side of him, and they were not only deeply loved but genuinely cherished.
Although his physical presence is no longer with us, Jim will continue to live on in the hearts of his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, countless laughs, and a love that will never be forgotten. He was one of a kind, and he will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
At the request of the family, all services will be private.
