James G. Colt

July 30, 1929 — February 16, 2012

James G. Colt (Demetrius Coulouriotes), 82 years young, who passed away on February 16. He was the son of the late George and Katherine Coulouriotes, dedicated father of 3, George J. Colt, Cathy C. Crepeau, and Lauren C. Streeter and their respective spouses Sherry Colt, Gerard Crepeau, and Eric Streeter, and loving grandfather of Kristin M. Crepeau, Michael G. Crepeau, Taylor C. Streeter, and Jaden A. Streeter. He is also survived by his brother Dr. S. George Colt and former wife Angela Fournarakis Colt, mother of his children.



Jim was born on July 30, 1929 in Cambridge, MA brought up in Somerville, graduated with his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, and ultimately earned his accelerated M.S. from the New Mexico College of Agriculture & Mechanic Arts. He was a Korean War Veteran serving our country with honor. As a mechanical engineer, he worked at several corporations throughout his lifetime, successfully ending his career at Raytheon. In his retirement years he split his time residing in both Stoneham, MA and Fort Walton Beach, FL. He was very proud of his Greek heritage, his love of Greek music, and had many close friendships that he always spoke of with pride.



A simple celebration of Jim Colt's life, surrounded by his friends and family, was his wish and all are welcome Thursday to gather and share remembrances with the Family from 3-7 pm in the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Interment will be private.
