James I. Connelly

November 28, 1923 — May 2, 2009

James I. Connelly of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Arnold House in Stoneham.



Born in Boston, James was the loving son of the late Beesy A. (Harraghy) Connelly and Martin J. Connelly. James was a warm and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed.



During World War II, James proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army.



James was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn L. (Palladino) Connelly. He was the devoted father of Martin Connelly and his wife Nancy of Eureka, MO, Peter Connelly and his wife Margot of Stoneham, Clare Sylvia and her husband Steve of Lowell, Paul Connelly of Stoneham and Susan Leevan and her husband Mark of Harrisburg, PA. He was the cherished grandfather of Jennifer Connelly, Brad Connelly and his wife Stephanie, Michael Connelly, Bryan Connelly and Paul Leevan and his great grandchild Harrison James Connelly of Stoneham. James was the brother-in-law of Anthony Palladino and his wife Rose of Hyde Park. He was the loving uncle of the late A. William Palladino, Stephen Palladino and Anne Tainter.



Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM Thursday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating James' Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. Former employee of Mass Highway.
