James Michael Cummings, of North Reading, passed away on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023, due to pneumonia from chemotherapy complications,  at the age of 52..  Born in Melrose, he is the beloved son of Janice (DiSessa) Cummings and the late James J. Cummings.

James grew up in Melrose and attended Melrose High School.  During his high school years, James played football and became an avid hockey fan.  Throughout the years, James had many loves, from fitness and the gym, to carpentry.  James was a quiet and simple guy, who enjoyed his time with his family.

In addition to his Mom, Janice, James leaves his sister Janine Cummings, brother-in-law DJ Cooper, loving aunt Lorraine DiSessa and cousins: Teddi Zeboski and her family, Lynne Aiken and her family, Anita Milano and her family and Bob and Ellie Santosuosso and their family.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 from 10 am to 11am.  Immediately following the visitation, a memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00am.
