James R. LaMattina of Stoneham passed away on August 1, 2016 at the age of 69. James was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
James was born in Somerville Massachusetts and grew up in Stoneham. He graduated Stoneham High School with the class of 1965. James was a loyal long time employee of Brown Brothers Harriman. One of his biggest hobbies was attending horse races at the Saratoga track in New York. James also had a great love for music often listening to the Beatles. He also loved taking walks in the community either on his own or with his loved ones. Above all he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially playing in the backyard with his grandchildren Ryan and Emma.
James was the former husband of Charlotte Stone. Beloved father of Rebecca Donadio and her husband Gabe and Randy Couris. Cherished grandfather of Ryan and Emma. Caring brother of Joseph LaMattina and his wife Donna and Jack LaMattina and his wife Rose. He was the dear nephew of Jennie LoPilato. Loving son of James LaMattina and Cecilia (Tambuzza) LaMattina. James is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday, August 13th at 9am followed by a funeral Mass Celebrating James Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Friday, August 12th from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
