James R. LeBlanc

James R. "Jas" LeBlanc of Reading, formerly of Wakefield, died after a brief illness on Sunday, June 22nd, in the Winchester Hospital surrounded by his family.





Jas was born in Wakefield on September 19, 1921 to the late John Ambrose LeBlanc and Teresa (Dulong) LeBlanc. He was the devoted husband for 59 years of the late Eleanor LeBlanc. He was the loving father of Carol Cristiano of Tewksbury and the late Susan Kramer. He was the beloved "Bumpy" to his grandchildren, Mark and Michelle Cristiano of North Reading, Kristi Reddington, Patrick and Michael Kramer, all of Reading and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Alyssa and Jacob Cristiano, all of North Reading.





He also leaves his brothers, Walter of Texas and Charles of California. Jas was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Wilfred, John and his twin brother Louis.





Jas was an Army Staff Sergeant during World War II and served in Germany, Italy and North Africa. He was awarded the Purple Heart medal for injuries received while serving in Italy.





Jas was an avid golfer and worked and played for several years at the Sagamore Spring Golf Club in Middleton and the Hillview Country Club in North Reading.





A Funeral Service celebrating Jas' life will be held on Friday at 7pm in the Chapel of the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Friday prior to the Service from 4-7pm. Parking attendants will be available.
