Obituary

James McGowan, Jr. Obituary With heavy hearts we announce, James "Jimmy" McGowan, Jr. age 63, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 21, at Lahey Medical Center, Burlington, MA. He was born on January 26, 1962, in Cambridge, MA to the late Eliazbeth and James McGowan. Jimmy loved working with his hands and in his last career he managed a facility that built quality millimeter-wave components for NASA. In his younger years, he loved construction and was a general contractor.  He was meticulous in his work and took great pride when building homes for others to enjoy for what he hoped was a lifetime. Jimmy had a big heart and loved spending time with family and friends. He was known for his great sense of humor.  He was known for his jokes, sarcasm, loud laugh and exaggerated eye rolls!  He loved to cook, and he was the grill master at BBQ parties where he always got the guys together to play a great game of horseshoes. He loved fast cars and was an avid swimmer. He was a great father, brother and uncle. He leaves behind his late wife Corrine Poe, his son James McGowan III, son Shamus Duffey, his step-daughter Melanie and husband Tony Fedele, sister Pamela Hallihan and husband George Hallihan, his "baby" sister Sheryl McGowan, his niece Eizabeth and husband Will Fiore, his nephew Stephen Goode and girlfriend Aleah, his nephew Matthew Hallihan and fiancé Victoria. His best friend Edward Mills, his son Sean Mills and his children Mason and Kensie Mills, who Jim considered to be his family and grandchildren. Details for a celebration of life will be held at a later time. In remembrance of Jimmy, donations can be made to the St. Jude's Foundation.
