James E. Sullivan of Stoneham, formerly of Malden, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at his home. He was 88 years of age.





Born in Malden, James was the loving son of the late Frank J. Sullivan and Alice C. (Warren) Sullivan. James was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.





James was a former Deputy Director for the Malden Housing Authority for many years. He was an active member of the Malden Moose and VFW. He was involved with his children as they participated in Cub Scouts, Pony League and Little League. James was a devout member of St. Patrick Church Holy Name Society and the Wakefield Knights of Columbus for 50 years.





James was the beloved husband for 64 years of Kathleen (Culleton) Sullivan. He was the devoted father of James E. Sullivan, Jr. of New Hampshire, Kathleen S. Driscoll and her husband Jake of Melrose, John L. Sullivan and his wife Deborah of Methuen. James was the cherished grandfather of Caitlin, Daniel, Caitlin, Megan, Joshua, Melissa, Michelle, Aaron, Sean and Alyssa. He was the loving great grandfather of 4 and the dear brother of Louise Turner of Florida and the late John Sullivan. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating James' Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Sunday from 2-6pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
