Jane T. (Tanner) Ahearn of Reading passed away on Wednesday December 8, 2004 at her home in Reading. She was 83 years of age.
Born in Winchester, Jane was the beloved daughter of the late Representative Frank D. Tanner and Mary A. (Morrison) Tanner. Jane was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.
Jane was a warm and gentle woman who loved her family. They were first and foremost in her life. She was very active in the American Red Cross and was also an executive assistant to the General Manager at Reading Municipal Light Department.
Jane was the devoted wife of the late James V. Ahearn. She was the beloved mother of James V. Ahearn Jr. and his wife Cathy of Virginia Beach, F. Daniel Ahearn and his wife Ellen of Milton, Maryellen and Deirdre Ahearn, both of Reading, William J. Ahearn and his wife Denise of Tewksbury, Jane Ahearn of Reading. Jane was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Melissa, Nicholas, Alison, Ryan and Cameron Ahearn, the dear sister of the late M. Ellen Herbert and Mary Tanner. She was the sister in law of John J. Herbert of Connecticut, Jane and Henry LeBoda, Frances and Richard Smith of Burlington, Elizabeth Ahearn of Arlington. Jane was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family - Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 9:45am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 11am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 6-8pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
