Janet M. (Kozelian) Pelosi of Stoneham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2025 after a long and courageous fight against cancer. She was born on October 10, 1966, to Murad and Virginia Kozelian. She grew up in Belmont, Massachusetts alongside her adoring older brothers John and Murad Jr. Although she cherished her brothers deeply, Janet wondered what life would be like with a sister. Later in life, she would often mention that the birth of her beloved daughters had made her wish for a sister come true.
Janet graduated from Framingham State University, alongside best friends Hope and Lorraine, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising. As a young adult, she began working as a travel agent, a role that allowed her to explore the globe. In 1990, she began working at Jordan Marsh, where she met her future husband, a coworker Michael. Janet and Mike fell in love and were married on September 6, 1997. Shortly after, they created a beautiful family and welcomed their daughters Jami and Rachel. It was after the birth of her daughter Jami in 1999 that Janet started working at Walgreens, where her coworkers became lifelong friends.
Janet came from a large Armenian family that she treasured deeply. She made sure to keep in touch with all relatives in her immediate and extended family. At home, Janet spent time laughing with (and oftentimes at) her husband Mike. An evening at home often consisted of a delicious meal followed by a cheesy Lifetime movie. Hanging out with her husband and daughters meant the world to Janet. She loved nothing more than being a mother to her girls (though her dog Peanut, the beach, leopard print, and the color purple followed closely behind). Janet attended countless concerts throughout her life, spanning from Guns N’ Roses to the Jonas Brothers. She was always up for a shopping spree with her daughters or friends.
Janet’s beauty radiated from within; her warm smile and contagious laugh could light up any room. She had a special gift for making others feel comfortable and at home. She was generous and enjoyed giving thoughtful presents to brighten someone’s day. Janet embodied selflessness, always prioritizing the needs of family members and friends. She selflessly fought cancer for years, for the sake of her husband and daughters. She attributed her strength to her family and friends, who rallied around her during her darkest hours. Even in moments of pain, Janet’s spirit remained unbroken; she continued to smile, share jokes, and radiate love.
Janet is predeceased by her loving parents, Murad and Virginia Kozelian. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Mike, and adoring daughters, Jami and Rachel. She is also survived by her two brothers, John and his wife Julie, and Murad Jr.; Sister-in-law Lynn and her husband Ron; Mother-in-law Marilyn; Nieces and nephews Mario, Danielle, Olive, Alex, Adam, Lee Lee, and Malachi; As well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Janet will be remembered for her kindness, laughter, and the warmth she spread to everyone around her.
