Jason Demers

March 20, 1970 — December 10, 2021

Jason Demers of Reading, MA died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 10, 2021 after a yearlong battle with colon cancer.

He was the beloved husband of Etain O'Dea, formerly of Dublin, Ireland, and the devoted father of Ryla, Cuan, and Rowan Demers. To them he will always be the strongest daddy in the world. He was a man of many, many interests and talents, and they all shine on through his children. His sense of humor, kindness, and love for life will remain with us always; we and the dogs miss him terribly.

Jason was a physicist and is now at one with the universe. We will scatter ashes in the ocean off his beloved Plum Island and at the cabin on Black Mountain, where he hiked and camped with friends for 30 years. He recently said 'Nothing bad ever happened at the cabin.'

He is survived by his sister Naomi Demers of Florida, and father Brian Demers and his wife Kim of Maine. He is predeceased by his mother, Leona Whitlow.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING on Saturday December 18, 2021 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.
