Jean M. (DiCesare) Hailey

In loving memory of Jean M. (DiCesare) Hailey, whose journey on this earth came to a sudden and unexpected end on June 23, 2024 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. She was born on July 11, 1941 in Cambridge MA, to Victor DiCesare and Mildred (Brady) DiCesare.

Jean, a longtime resident of Reading, was known for her unwavering dedication as an employee of Time Electronics/Avnet Corporation. After her retirement from Avnet, she worked in the food service sector for the Reading School System. Her commitment and work ethic were truly commendable.

Among the memories cherished by those who knew her best are the holiday family parties filled with laughter and joy. She had a special affinity for dancing in the kitchen to Neil Diamond, Elvis and the Doors.  

Outside of work, Jean found solace and delight in the simple joys of life. Described as a "homebody," she found contentment in the familiar comforts of home and family. Summers held a special place in her heart as she enjoyed spending time at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, creating lasting memories with both her immediate family and extended relatives.

Jean's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her children and grandchildren, whom she loved wholeheartedly. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to resonate through the generations.

In addition to her parents, Jean is reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Frederick A. Hailey and her cherished brother William DiCesare. 

She is survived by her daughter Susan Marquis of Manchester NH, son James Hailey and his wife Meg of Weymouth MA, grandchildren Matthew, Justin and Meghan Hailey, Alisha Canela, Michelle Marquis, and four great-grandchildren.  In addition, Jean is survived by her brother Michael DiCesare, and sisters Judith Rey and Nanci Gaff. Jean will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.  

A visitation will be held on July 9th from 11:00 to 12:00 at Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St in Reading, MA, followed by a Funeral Service. The interment will take place at Forest Glen Cemetery at 1:15.

Jean's presence will forever remain in the hearts of all those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
