Jennie (Minghella) Salera of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Winchester Nursing Center in Winchester. She was 92 years of age.
Born in Cassino, Italy, Jennie was the beloved daughter of the late Angelina (Marrocco) and Carmine Minghella. Jennie was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be sorely missed.
Jennie was the Founder of Ladies Lodge of Sons of Italy of Stoneham. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Church in Stoneham, making fried dough at several church events. Jennie was a good spirited, generous and loving woman who will be remembered for her big heart and kind ways.
Jennie was the beloved wife of the late Michael. She was the devoted mother of Barbara Devine and her late husband John, Tom Salera and his wife Kathy all of Stoneham. Jennie was the cherished grandmother of John Devine and his wife Sixcia of Rhode Island, Robert Devine and his wife Alice of New Hampshire, Marc Devine of Texas, Jaime Wallace and her husband Allen of Billerica, Michael Downing of Stoneham. She was also the loving great grandmother of seven. She was the dear sister of the late Frank, Mildred, Thomas, Jean, Attilio and Ernest Minghella, Mickey and Olga Marrocco. Jennie was also the sister-in-law of Mary and Marianne Minghella, both of Stoneham.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Jennie's life was held on Wednesday, October 15th, in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
