Joan M. Cornette of Everett passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Joan was 89 years of age.

Born on Monday, October 29, 1934 in Malden, MA Joan is the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Cornette Sr. and Mabel (Radelli) Cornette. Joan is a warm, kind, gentle and loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be truly missed.

A lifelong Everett resident, Joan graduated from Everett High School and the School of Fashion Design in Boston. She worked as a women’s clothing designer & buyer, designing beautiful Christmas sweaters for a long time. She was also a doll clothing designer working for many years for Vogue on their Ginny Doll Line. By far this was her favorite job! She was an active volunteer and teacher in Sabbath School for the Seventh Day Adventist Church, as well as at the Food Pantry on Gerry Street in Stoneham.

Joan was an avid doll collector and maker of Porcelain Dolls. Getting every tiny detail completely accurate. She even made a replica doll of her late Mother when she was a child.

Joan is the dear and devoted sister of the late Lewis Cornette and his late wife Patricia, the late Joseph Cornette Jr. and his surviving wife Ruth, the late Ralph Cornette and his surviving wife Dorothy. She is survived by her best friend throughout life Dori Pope. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews: Jay Cornette and his wife Cathy, and their son Anthony; Stephen Cornette and his wife Lisa, and the children of Stephen and his late wife Ann, Jessica (and her husband Damon Demyda, and their sons Dino and Dominic) and Christine (and her husband Stephon Martin, and their son Logan); Janice and her husband Bob Jones, and their children Melissa and Alexandra (and her fiancé Jordan); David Cornette and his wife Jennifer, and their son Luke; Kristen Cornette; Donna Ritvo and her late husband Fred, and their son Freddie; and Roberta Cornette. She was also a beloved adopted grandmother “Bukka” to Daniel and Elaina Hawkes. She is also survived by her adopted family Jackie Adams, Evelyn Almeida and her husband, Washington, and their son Hayden.

Family and friends are cordially invited to Visiting Hours on Monday, August 26th from 9:30am – 11:30am in the Stoneham Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church, 29 Maple Street, STONEHAM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30am in the Church. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, Followed Bereavement Luncheon
