Phelan, Joan Carol (Lopes)-Of Peabody, Beloved wife of William Phelan Jr.  Devoted Mother of  William D. Phelan III and his wife Amy, John M. Phelan and his wife Jamie. Loving Daughter of the late John Lopes and Aurore  (Levasseur).  Dear sister of Maureen Longo and her husband Ernie, Donna Lopes, Roberta Monroe and her husband David and Linda Monteith and her husband Luke.  Sister-in-law Susan Buckley and the late Doris Cacciola.

Cherished grandmother of Katie Morin and her husband Adam, William D. Phelan IV and Ava and  Grant Phelan. Adored great-grandmother of Claire Morin. Joan is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.  Joan was a longtime resident of North Reading, was born and raised in Somerville, MA.  She was married 53 years to her longtime sweetheart. A Funeral Service will be held at the Good Shepherd Church on Wednesday June 16th at 11am. Please meet directly at the church.  Relatives and friends may visit at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28) North Reading, on Tuesday night from 4-7pm. Interment is Private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Good Shepherd Church 95 Woburn St., Reading MA.
