Joan R. (Coyle) O'Hara

Joan R. (Coyle) O'Hara of Stoneham, formerly of Medford passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Burlington. She was 81 years of age.

Born on June 8, 1932 in Medford, Joan was the loving daughter of the late David B.H.Coyle and Veronica (Myers) Coyle. Joan was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who were privileged to know her.

Joan worked at Tufts for 22 years in the Human Resources Department. She retired in 1997. She loved the beach, the Red Sox, and her car. Joan had a tremendous love for her family and friends. They meant everything to her. She enjoyed going shopping and out to dinner. She was an avid reader who was proud to have made afghans for all of her grandchildren.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late Francis E. O'Hara. She was the devoted mother of Thomas F. O'Hara and his wife Lynn, Janet S. Kenney and her husband Robert and the late Paul M. O'Hara and Neal D. O'Hara. Joan was the cherished grandmother of Kyla Ruane and her husband Colin, Kristi Hawkes and her husband Adam, Maren Powers and her husband Christopher, Garett O'Hara, Robert Kenney, Brittany O'Hara, Casey O'Hara, Kevin O'Hara and Conor O'Hara. The loving great grandmother of Logan, Quinn and Ty Hawkes, Charlie Powers and Declan Ruane, Joan was the dear sister of the late Mary Louise Taylor and David Coyle.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Joan's Eternal Life in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West Medford, at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
