John A. Bernard, Jr. of Woburn, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. He was 79 years of age.
Born in Everett, Mr. Bernard was a resident of Woburn for many years. He was an electrical troubleshooter for the M.B.T.A. before he retired. Mr. Bernard was a decorated World War II Marine Veteran. He served our country in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 08818 and the American Legion Post # 0101, Woburn.
Mr. Bernard was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Fitzgerald) Bernard. He was the father of Elizabeth Carey, Suzanne Bernard and John Bernard III and his wife Lillie. He was the loving grandfather of Brianna Carey and brother of the late Elaine Bradley, Edward Barnard and Richard Barnard.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours at the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. Stoneham TMonday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
