John F. "Jackie" Connors

December 2, 1930 — January 11, 2020

John Francis Connors "Jackie", age 89, passed away due to declining health January 11, 2020. For 51 years he was the beloved husband of the late Ruth H. (Wikman) Connors.

He was born on December 2, 1930 and raised in Woburn. He was the son of the late Ernest and Helen (Peterson) Connors. He graduated from Woburn High School and joined the Air National Guard, later the Army and was a sargeant stationed at Fort Rucker Alabama.

After the service he took a position with New England Telephone, he met and married Ruthie and they raised their five children in the Central Square area. In the late 60's they were fortunate to get a summer beach house in Hampton where family and friends were always welcome for over 50 years.

In his spare time he could often be found working at the cottage or helping his children and neighbors. He was the "go to" guy if you had any home or car repair needs, a real Jack of all trades. He also liked to dabble in the stock market and often amazed his family when investments like "the twitter" reaped rewards.

Jack was able to spend recent winters in Port Charlotte, Florida. He enjoyed the warmer weather and could often be found riding his bike with his cherished pet in the basket. He also spent many hours with his various friends and acquaintances north and south discussing politics and news of the day.

He leaves behind four children, Deborah Parlee and her husband Ken, of Woburn, Jay Connors of Lowell, Robert Connors of Haverhill, Kim Gentile and her husband Vinnie of Wilmington. Predeceased daughter Lynn and infant son Keith. Also survived by his eight grandchildren, Kim and Dave Laing of Wilmington, Ken and Amy Parlee, Kasey and Jonathan Flowers, and Kevin Parlee all of Woburn, Jack and Noelle Gilmore and Bob Lotito of Exeter, New Hampshire, Brandon Gentile and Megan Gentile of Wilmington and more recently ten adored great grandchildren.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Saturday January 18th from 9:30 am to 11:30 am followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Jackie's Life beginning at 11:30 am.
