John D. Hanright, Town Clerk of Stoneham, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. He was 69 years of age.
Born in Winchester, John was the loving son of the late Hubert H. and Margaret M. (Doherty) Hanright.
John was devoted to and loved the Town of Stoneham. He served as the Town Clerk of Stoneham since 1998 and was an Assessor for the town for many years before that from 1975-1999. John coached Stoneham Little League, he has a member of the Millennium Parade Committee, the Bicentennial Parade Committee and advocate for the fire department. He was a United States Veteran, Army.
John was a warm and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sorely missed.
John was the beloved husband of Mary Jane (Connors) Hanright. He was the devoted father of John J. Hanright and his wife Nancy of Stoneham. Cherished grandfather of his 3 month old granddaughter Alexis Christine Hanright. Dear brother of Margaret M. Sweet, Martha J. Porter, Anne T. Leydon and the late Hubert H. Hanright and Mary Ellen Beagen.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating John's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 1-4 and 7-9 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
