John K. Melkonian

John K. Melkonian of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.  He is 96 years of age.

Born on Saturday, November 6, 1926 in Winchester, John is the loving son of the late John K. Melkonian and Virginia (Nazarian) Melkonian.  John is a warm, kind and gentle son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

During World War II, John proudly defended our freedom by serving in the US Marine Corps.  He was a graduate of Stoneham High Schools class of 1946. After his military service he and his brother Ralph carried on the family business as Dealers of Stoneham Ford. John enjoyed his summers spending time at the ocean in southern Maine. 

John is the beloved husband of Gail (Stickney) Melkonianand the late Alice (Cook) Melkonian.  He is the devoted father of Ralph K. Melkonian and his late wife Kathleen, Ronald J. Melkonian and his wife Carleen, Mark J. Melkonian and his wife Claire, the late Alan K. Melkonian and his surviving wife Joyce.  The cherished grandfather of 10, doting great grandfather of 7 and the stepfather of Vonda LaCroix Gauthier, David LaCroix, Claire LaCroix Melkonian and Pamela LaCroix Macura, John is the step grandfather of 12 and the step great grandfather of 10.  He is the dear brother of the late Ralph Melkonian.

A Funeral Service Celebrating John’s Eternal Life will be held on Monday, November 14th at 10am in the First Congregational Church in Stoneham, 1 Church St. Stoneham.  At the request of the Family, please go directly to church. 

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with John’s Family on Sunday, November 13th from 1-5pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM.  Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
