John P Murray. of Stoneham, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was 70 years of age.
Born in Cambridge, John was the loving son of the late John P. Murray and his wife Mamie (Abbot) Murray. John enjoyed golf, especially the 19th hole. He loved his pets and was a Karate Sensei and earned his black belt. John was a letter carrier in the City of Medford for 30 years and he proudly served our Country in the United States Army during Vietnam.
John was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Knowlton) Murray. Loving brother in law of Pat Philp and her husband Paul, Franny Macone and her husband Bill. Cherished uncle of Christine and Marybeth Philp, Andrea Macone, Stephen Macone and Brian and his wife Holly Macone. Dear great uncle of Ashton Mason, Harper and Ella Philp and Ailish Macone.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Thursday May 17th, 2018 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating John's Eternal Life in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Interment with Military Honors will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday May 16th, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
