Son of the late John L. and Helen Gallant. Brother of Helena Tripp and husband Ted of TX, Stephen Gallant and wife Linda of Melrose, and Warren Gallant and wife Sue of NM. John was past Captain of Malden Fire Department, and served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion in Malden and the VFW. Avid with civic virtue and always willing to lend a hand, John enjoyed conversation with everyone, camping with family, golfing, and skiing with friends. In retirement, John loved spending time in Sarasota, Florida with his wife, Donna.
