John R. Serrecchia of Reading passed away on Wednesday, June 04, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 84 years of age.
Born in Boston, John was the loving son of the late Joseph Serrecchia and Evalina (Marcinanti) Serrecchia. John was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be sorely missed.
John was a dedicated Restaurant owner for many years. During World War II, John proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Navy.
John was the beloved husband of Iole (Domenici) Serrecchia. He was the devoted father of John J. Serrecchia and his wife MaryLou of Pembroke, New Hampshire, Marian Muse and her husband Peter of North Reading, Joseph P. Serrecchia of Revere. John was the cherished grandfather of Whitney and Erika Serrecchia, Matthew and Ashley Muse. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass celebrating John's life will be held on Monday at 10am in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. READING. Interment Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
