John J. Silvestro

John J. Silvestro, of North Reading, formerly of the West End of Boston and Everett, passed away on September 4, 2026. He was 95 years of age.

John was an avid golfer, a cook, a fisherman, and a family man. He served honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He lived in North Reading for 65 years and was active in town affairs. In later years he enjoyed winters in Florida with friends from Massachusetts and newfound friends from down south. 

John is the beloved husband of the late Flora (Dasaro) Silvestro. He is the loving father of John Silvestro and his wife Karen Potter, Guy Silvestro and the late Paul Silvestro. He is the dear brother of the late Salvatore Silvestro, Joseph Silvestro, Camille Ferrante, Anne Strazzere and Helen Silvestro. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Barile Cota Family Funeral Home 335 Park St. North Reading on Saturday September 26th, 2026 at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating John's Eternal Life in St. Theresa Church 63 Winter St. North Reading at 10:30 am. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Friday September 25th, 2026 from 4 pm to 7 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants available.
