John Raymond Weston formerly of Reading, Massachusetts and Maine passed away on Saturday March 10th at Lebanon Genesis in Lebanon, NH. He was 95 years of age.
Born in Reading, John was the loving son of Nelson Raymond Weston and Helen (Eaton) Weston. John was a caring son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
John was the beloved husband of the late Elaine (Crawford) Weston for 56 years. He was the devoted father of Janis Parker, Maryl Kilbourn and her husband Larry and Alan and his wife Martha, cherished grandfather of Aaron, Jonathan, Matthew, Patrick, Christopher and Molly and the great grandfather of ten.
After serving in the Navy during World War II, John worked as a carpenter in greater Boston, eventually retiring to Brownfield, Maine. John was a Deacon in his church, Boy Scout leader and member of the Masonic Lodge and Odd Fellows. A craftsman, John built clocks, rocking horses and wooden toys for his children and grandchildren.
John enjoyed being outdoors, travel and fly-fishing, particularly in the natural lakes of northern Maine. But most of all, he enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Friday March 16th from 6-8pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. Reading. Parking attendants and ramped entrance available.
A Funeral Service Celebrating John's Life will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 1pm in the First Congregational Church of Reading, 25 Woburn St. Reading. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery Reading.
