Joseph M. Cunniff

Joseph M. Cunniff of Stoneham passed away on February 25, 2016 at 92 years of age. Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

Joseph is a proud graduate of Malden Catholic High School, class of 1942. He continued his education at Northeastern University where he is the past President of the Northeastern University Alumni Association. Joseph was very active in his community. He is the past Grand Knight of the Stoneham Knights of Columbus. Joseph was an active member of the Wakefield ELKS Lodge and Saint Patrick Church and also served as a member of the 4th Degree Saint Pius Knights of Columbus.

Joseph is the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. (Morgan) Cunniff. He is the devoted father of Marjorie A. Anderson and her husband Robert, Joseph M. Cunniff, Jr. and his wife Liz, Joan M. Hultgren, Kevin F. Cunniff and his wife Beth, Paul H. Cunniff and the late Elaine P. Cunniff. Joseph is the cherished grandfather of Robert Anderson Jr., Katherine Sargent, Marie Corbi, Christine Hultgren, Jeffrey Hultgren, Kathryn Cunniff, Kyle Cunniff and J. Michael Cunniff III. He is the great-grandfather of six. Joseph is the loving son of the late Patrick J. and Mary J. (Crowe) Cunniff. He is the dear brother of the late Rev. Hubert F. Cunniff, S.J., William J. Cunniff, Richard J. Cunniff, John P. Cunniff and Charles V. Cunniff. Joseph is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Tuesday March 1st at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Joseph's Eternal Life in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central Street, Stoneham at10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the family on Monday February 29th from 4-8pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.
