Joseph John DiMare of Stoneham passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 90 years of age.
Born on August 12, 1924 in Boston, Joseph was the loving son of the late Salvatore DiMare and Margaret (Guzzeta) DiMare. Joseph was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Joseph was a dedicated manager in the restaurant industry for many years. He was a life Member of Stoneham & Wakefield Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 6800, Somerville. During World War II, Joseph proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army.
Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Spina) DiMare. He was the devoted father of Christine Tebbetts and her husband William, Denise DiMare and her husband Jim Skaparas, Marianne DiMare-Estrela and her husband Jose, Joseph DiMare and his wife Carolynne. The cherished grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 12, Joseph was the dear brother of Frances DeFilipo, Rose Marino and the late Salvatore DiMare. He was the longtime companion of Edna Goguen. Joseph was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM, Friday, May 15, 2015 at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Joseph's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 9am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 3-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
