Joseph Dischino of Stoneham passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He is 77 years of age.
Born on March 18, 1944 in Cambridge, Joseph is the loving son of the late Joseph Dischino and Marion (Ughetti) Dischino. Joseph is a warm, kind and caring son, brother, husband, uncle, great uncle and friend. He will be truly missed.
Joe lived in Stoneham for over 40 years. He has had a wide variety of work experiences since the age of 10. He helped deliver bread with his uncle, drove a semi-truck delivering root beer to stores. Joe sold life insurance for Prudential and co-owned the American Coffee Company. He drove a shuttle bus for Mass General Hospital transporting doctors to and from their various parking lots. Joe was not only a member of the Sons of Italy in Winchester, he was their event coordinator and ran their restaurant as cook and manager for breakfast and lunch or a number of years.
Joe is the beloved husband of the late Lorraine M. (Bova) Dischino. He is the dear brother of Christine Leavitt and her late husband Paul and Nancy Ann Flaherty and her husband Dan. The cherished uncle of Audrey Leavitt, Karen O'Malley and her husband Mark, Aaron Leavitt, Debbie Gilbertson and her husband Tom, Joseph Molino and his wife Ciarla, Julie Eastwood and her husband Thomas and Sean Flaherty, Joe is the devoted great uncle of Tommy & Michael Gilbertson, Ryan, Abby and Brendan O'Malley, Vinny and Nicky Molino and Cole and Chloe Eastwood.
A Funeral Mass Celebrating Joe's Eternal Life will be held on Tuesday, January 11th at 10am in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street Stoneham. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Joe's Family prior to the Mass from 8:30 – 9:30am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street, (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Following the interment, a luncheon will be held at Bertucci's, 45 Walkers Brook Drive, Reading.
